Wavves with Mishka and Vice "Weed Demon" (video game)

Wavves teamed up Vice and Mishka to bring you "Weed Demon" a new video game. Nathan from Waves had this to say about the creation "It's like Paper Boy but you deliver drugs and you feed a monster meth at the end. I've been recording. Having fun with this kind of stuff on the side. Thanks to Mishka, Vice, and everyone helping me do random shit like this. Hope we can turn weed demon into an app someday." Give it a play here while you jam out to Anamanaguchi's cover of "So Bored". Getting stoned is also encouraged.

Band Of Skulls at the Commodore April 10, 2012

Band Of Skulls played Vancouver's famous Commodore Ballroom on April 10th to a packed house. The band kicked things off with an enthusiastic version of "Sweet Sour" and played a well crafted set  of old (including "Hollywood Bowl") and new. A particular crowd pleaser was an epic (I hate that word but it's appropriate here) version of "Cold Flame". When lead man Russell Marsden wasn't rocking a guitar solo he was trading off vocals with bass player/vocalist Emma Richardson and Matt Hayward was an absolute machine on the drums. It was an excellent rock and roll show all around. Check the photos above (click a photo to open a gallery view).

The Dudes "American Girl" (new track)

Calgary's The Dudes self-released 'Barbers, Thieves, and Bartenders' earlier this month. The album was recorded in Vancouver by Jeff Dawson at Mushroom Studios and The Den. The track was produced by The Cribs' frontman Ryan Jarman and has already been given the video treatment by Nik Vestberg. The band wants you to know the following “We say it's a pop song about big stuff, the big stuff being buying superfluous, dumb things when you have no money. And we should make it clear from the off that's it's not really an academic study about the merits of Communism, it's a silly song with a guitar solo. Karl Marx, avert your ears!”

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs "Tapes & Money" (video)

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs will release their debut album 'Trouble' via Casablanca Records on June 12th. Above is the video "Tapes & Money" the latest single from the forthcoming album. Go!

Wintersleep "Resuscitate" (new track)

Canada's Wintersleep are set to release 'Hello Hum' on June 12th via Roll Call Records/ILG. The new album was co-produced and mixed by Dave Fridmann (MGMT, The Flaming Lips) and Tony Doogan (Belle & Sebastian, Mogwai). Check out "Resuscitate" (below) for a taste of the forthcoming album.

Clark "Black Stone" (video)

Clark released his new album 'Iradelphic' this week via Warp Records (buy it here). To help celebrate the release comes a stunning short film from The Vikings accompanied by Clark's track "Black Stone" (which premiered over at NPR) off the new album. Be patient, it's worth it.

Royal Canoe "Bathtubs" (performance video)

Winnipeg's Royal Canoe released their EP titled 'Extended Play' (I see what they did there) on February 21st and has been touring quite a bit since including a stop at SXSW. The above video for "Bathtubs" was captured at SXSW by the Kiyanna Project. The six piece is currently working on a long player (I wonder if that's what they'll call it) whenever they have time. The band heads back out on the road at the end of the month including  a stop at Vancouver's Waldorf on May 22nd (all dates below). I'll see you at the show.
